Starlink and Henry Sy Jr: The Ultimate Team Up

Still having a poor internet connection with your current internet provider? Well, you can say goodbye to life with slow internet when Starlink finally comes into play in the Philippines! Will Elon Musk’s SpaceX provide a solution for the country’s expensive and sluggish internet service? Let’s find out!

Elon Musk and Henry Sy

Through a ground-breaking partnership with American tech tycoon Elon Musk, billionaire Henry Sy Jr. is launching a countrywide satellite broadband service. Yes, you read that right. Our very own Henry Sy Jr. is teaming up with Mr. Twitter himself. Now that is what we call a dream team!

What do these two have in common? Well, for one, they are both extremely wealthy visionaries. When visionaries have a lot of money, most of the time, good things happen. And they happen for the benefit of the people around them and for the future.

Sy Jr. and Anthony Almeda, the co-founders of Data Lake Inc., recently reached an agreement with Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX), which owns Starlink. For the uninitiated, Data Lake is now the first Starlink integrator in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. In short, the said deal would make us the first country in Southeast Asia to make use of Starlink’s internet service.

Furthermore, the steps necessary to register Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX as an internet service provider in the Philippines are now being taken. That means Starlink Philippines will be a real thing SOON!

Game-changer for Students and Teachers

When the pandemic struck, students and teachers found it difficult to keep up with online and blended learning due to the lack of reliable internet. This issue remains in remote areas throughout the country. However, things may change for the better with Starlink.

With access to fast internet, far-flung schools will never be the same again. Students will be able to access the web to their hearts’ content to make assignments and projects a lot easier. Teachers will finally be able to send reports online without trekking the highest mountaintop just to get a signal.

Students and teachers have been left behind, and the education sector is hurting, but we hope for this to change with the promise of Starlink.

Beyond education, workers, businesses, and so many more will benefit from stable and high-speed internet. Imagine needing a connection during natural disasters, and having it. Growing your online selling business? Done! Sky’s the limit for the country. So we just can’t wait for this to improve the quality of life for everyone.
