50,000 Non-Teaching Staff of DepEd to Receive Performance Bonus

THE VALUE OF EDUCATION. Bonuses will finally land on the laps of Department of Education’s (DepEd) non-teaching staff this year.

A union leader said on Tuesday that some 50,000 non-teaching staff of the DepEd are now eligible to receive a performance-based bonus. The clamor for the said bonus has been going on since last year.

Before this new development, teachers were the only ones eligible for the bonus that amounts from P20,000 to P50,000.

More Benefits

On top of agreeing to give the bonus, the management also dismissed the service fee charged to employees, which amounts to 0.5 percent of their salary. This was according President of the DepEd National Employees’ Union, Atty. Domingo Alidon.

Once the guidelines for the benefit’s release were ironed out, the DepEd management will immediately grant the bonus to its non-teaching staff, Alidon added.
