National Museum of Natural History set to open on May 18

Starting on May 18, you can marvel at the exhibitions at the National Museum of Natural History, as it finally opens its doors right in time for International Museum Day.

The museum was much talked about in October last year when it held a one-day open house, allowing visitors a preview of its magnificent architecture, interiors, and exhibits.

The new museum is the third building completing the National Museum Complex in Manila, along with the National Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museum of Anthropology.

The National Museum of Natural History will feature exhibits on the country’s unique flora and fauna and rich biodiversity. It will also showcase interactive activities and models. Additionally, visitors will be able to see a life-size replica of Lolong, the longest crocodile that was held in captivity.

Admission to the National Museum of Natural History is free of charge, just like in the other museums in the complex.

In 2016, it was declared that entrance to all museums of the National Museum of the Philippines all over the country would be permanently free of charge, in an effort to increase viewership especially among younger Filipinos.
