Philippine Presidential Cars Museum is Now Open to the Public

If you’re a fan of old cars and Philippine history, you’re in luck; a museum that houses the cars used by past Philippine Presidents has been inaugurated in Quezon City.

The Museo ng Pampangulong Sasakyan (Presidential Cars Museum) is a project of the National Historic Commission of the Philippines, and has been several years in the making.

The museum’s inauguration was attended by Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, NHCP Chair Dr. Rene Escalante, NHCP  Executive Director Ludovico Badoy, as well as the families of the past Presidents.

The Presidential Cars Museum is a 2,000-square-meter building located in the Quezon City Memorial Circle Park. It currently displays 14 vehicles used by the Presidents and other historical figures in the country.

Some of the cars on display are Manuel Quezon’s 1937 Chrysler Airflow Custom Imperial, Manuel Roxas’s Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine, and a replica of Diosdado Macapagal’s 1959 Cadillac Sedan DeVille.

Cars used by historical figures like General Douglas MacArthur, Ramon Magsaysay, and Imelda Marcos were also on display.

The museum is looking to expand the collection soon by acquiring the Presidential Cars of Former Presidents Carlos P. Garcia and Benigno Aquino III.

Aside from the cars, the museum also has an interactive projection mapping wall and a souvenir shop that sells various items, including special commemorative presidential car stamps.

The Museo ng Pampangulong Sasakyan is now open to the public, and admission is free.
