Waze makes it a breeze: Start by taking SLEX and hopping onto the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (Star) Tollway towards Ibaan. Shortcut

This Bicol shortcut will save you 3 to 4 hours worth of travel time, but it’s recommended to choose this route exclusively during daylight hours due to the absence of street lights. If you are headed to Albay and Sorsogon, upon reaching Camarines Sur, follow the route through the GMA Highway. This road primarily winds through the base of the extensive mountain range on the southern side of Bicol, providing the scenic view that you typically see when traveling the usual Sipocot to Ligao stretch of the Maharlika Highway.

Northbound

When going back to Metro Manila, remember to use the GMA Highway during the day. Upon reaching Lucena, take a left onto Quezon Ecotourism Road. Head left towards Rosario and San Juan, then exit onto the Ibaan Star Tollway before finally reaching SLEX.
