
3000+ Applicants Employed at Labor Day Job Fair
In over 31 locations in the country, a total number of 3,108 applicants were hired on-the-spot at this year’s Labor Day TNK Job Fair and Business Opportunities.
According to the data from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), this interprets to a 13.4 percent of about 23, 169 qualified applicants from the job fair.
Qualified Filipinos
Meanwhile, a number of near-hire applicants is recorded at 13,355. These applicants were lacking the required document and needed further interviews.
On the same note, 1,355 applicants have been referred for skills training at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for improvement.
Providing opportunities
More than 1,500 employers took part in the annual event, offering more than 200,000 local and overseas jobs in the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) and Build Build Build (BBB) job and business caravan. The respected theme for this year is “Pagpupugay sa Manggagawang Pilipino”.
The main event was located at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Accompanying the job fair was the groundbreaking of the multi-million worth, overseas Filipino worker (OFW) hospital. The property is a donation by the provincial government of Pampanga.
This medical facility is financed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), while donors will be regulated by the Department of Health (DOH).
