Yes, it is Everyone’s KPop 2024!

Annyeong, chingus! We just came from Everyone’s KPop 2024, a yearly convention that gives fans the ultimate KPop experience. Kaja!

What Happened?

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the friendship between South Korea and the Philippines. So on July 6, The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) and Seoul Shinmun Daily, in partnership with the Philippine KPOP Convention and SM Megamall, hosted Everyone’s KPop 2024, with the theme “K-Culture in Your Area.”

The convention was held in the SM Megamall Fashion Hall.

The convention aimed to bring the KPop community together with several activities, from photo booths, games, and especially dance performances! Several fanclubs also attended to sell merchandise and have fun with the attendees.

Playing in the KPop Playground

When the event started, we were taken to the “KPop Playground,” the convention’s pre-show. We all tested our dance and memory during the “Guess the Choreo” game. Fun fact: we participated and lost! Lucky fans also strut their stuff on stage during the “Light Up the Runway” fashion show! Daebak!

For photo ops, we explored both the Trick Art Photo Wall and the 360 Reels area. During the performances, we watched an explosive performance by PPop girl group YGIG. Plus, we got an exclusive dance tutorial from AUSPICIOUS, a professional crew from South Korea who’ve choreographed for groups like BTS, EXO, and ATEEZ!

Rounding up the pre-show was everyone’s favorite: the Random Play Dance! When you know the dance to the song, just come to the center and do it! And not to toot our own horn, but we did show off a little of our choreography skills!

Let’s [Cover] Dance the Night Away!

The main event of Everyone’s KPop 2024 was the “2024 KPop Cover Dance Festival.” Eleven finalists danced their hearts out to medleys from groups like SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, and TWICE!

Before we knew who won, we watched PPop girl group KAIA, who performed their new song, “You Did It.” Plus, AUSPICIOUS returned to dance a medley of their choreographed hits!

In the end, three groups emerged victorious. SAGA nabbed 2nd Runner-Up with their ENHYPEN medley. Next, PRINCIPIUM won 1st Runner-Up with their rendition of THE BOYZ’ song “Reveal.” Last but not the least, PARALX became the Grand Champion with their take on SEVENTEEN’s “Maestro” and “Super.”

PARALX will represent the Philippines in the final round of the 2024 KPop Cover Dance Contest in South Korea.
