Second Malasakit Center Opens in Iloilo

After the Cebuanos, it’s now time for the Ilonggos to experience the convenience of the Malasakit Center.

Similar to the one in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu, the newly opened Malasakit Center of the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City aims to provide patients an easier way to process requirements for availment of PhilHealth benefits through an online information desk.

Personnel from the Membership and Marketing Section of the PhilHealth Regional Office VI together with the assistance provided by the PhilHealth Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff (P-CARES) offer convenience to patients by eliminating the need to go to different government agencies.

When processing PhilHealth requirements, the services of agencies such as the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and Philippine Amusement and Gaming are already available at the Malasakit Center in Iloilo.

Dr. Roy B. Ferrer, PhilHealth Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, spearheaded the the inauguration of the Malasakit Center along with Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Christopher Lawrence “Bong” T. Go as well as Regional Directors/Chiefs of partner-agencies and hospitals.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Visayas (OPAV), participating agencies, and government hospitals made this project possible.

The first Malasakit Center in Cebu was also established this year.
