Filipino Olympic Medalists: The Complete Timeline
While we are still on high from the Philippines’ wins in the 2024 Paris Olympics, let us look back and celebrate all the Filipino Olympic medalists throughout the years.
Summer and Winter Olympics
But before we cheer on our athletes, allow us to give you a little history lesson about the Olympics.
The Summer and Winter Olympic Games, organized by the International Olympic Committee, take place every four years. However, they are staged on staggered timelines. The Summer Olympics take place every leap year (2020, 2024), while the Winter Olympics are held two years later (2022, 2026). This way, there is always an Olympics to look forward to every two years.
The Philippines has a total of 14 Filipino Olympic medalists in the Summer Olympics so far. We have yet to win one in the Winter Olympics.
