Fat Chef has finally opened its doors in Cagayan de Oro City. Those craving classic Filipino dishes — with a twist — will surely enjoy dining at this cozy new restaurant.

Situated along Antonio Luna Street (in front of Goodyear Servitek, near Cagayan Town Center), Fat Chef promises to give every diner the treat of eating home-cooked meals filled with love.

The homegrown restaurant is owned by the Rodriguez siblings: Rhea, Ronald, and Raiza — who are all passionate about cooking.

According to Rhea, their family tradition of bonding over home-cooked meals every Sunday inspired them to create the restaurant. That is also why their menu consists of a variety of Filipino dishes served with a unique twist.

“Instead of classic Filipino lang, I want something different from the normal Filipino restaurants,” Ronald said.

Some of the classic Filipino food they serve with a twist include: Bulad Bruschetta, soft french bread and bulad flakes with tomato and spices; Chicken Inasal sa Gata; Sizzling Sinigang, beef with sauce created from the combination of gravy and sinigang, beans, tomato, garlic and onion; Talong Kinilaw sa Gata, grilled eggplant with vinegar and gata; and Pinakbet sa Gata, a dish with shrimp, eggplants, string beans and the sauce made from gata and mashed squash.

Fat Chef also offers other dishes like Truffle Pasta, Four Cheese Lasagna, Grilled Squid, Shrimp Mayonesa, and more.
