Were The BINI Concert Prices Too Expensive?
Have you snagged your ticket to Grand BINIverse this November? Or have you settled on being #TeamBahay for all 3 days? Whatever situation you’re in, we sure had a lot to say about the BINI concert prices!
What is Grand BINIverse?
Following the success of the BINIverse concert last June, Grand BINIverse is P-pop girl group BINI’s solo show that will be held in the SMART Araneta Coliseum on November 16, 17, and 18. The last day was added due to “insistent public demand.”
Ticketing Blues?
When the ticket prices for the concert were released, it garnered mixed reactions from fans, collectively known as BLOOMS. For reference, general admission tickets cost Php 1,387, while the VIP standing tickets cost Php 11,195!
Netizens initially expressed disappointment over the big increase from the last set of BINI concert prices. They also raised other points against the management: many fans are students who likely couldn’t afford a ticket, they needed to fix their merchandise’s quality, and Soundcheck access is a top-up instead of a VIP/Patron inclusion. Not only that, other netizens claimed that the prices are “pang-mayaman” when BINI is a girl group marketed “pang-masa.”
KPop-esque Pricing
It’s no secret that in KPop, idols’ Manila concerts reach the ten thousands in ticket prices. For example, when BTS held THE WINGS TOUR back in 2017, their highest VIP tier was priced at Php 12,500! For girl groups, ITZY’s BORN TO BE concert in Manila last August 3 was priced from Php 3,000 to Php 16,500.
BLOOMS were valid in raising their concerns that the BINI concert prices are “unreasonable.” Yet, there were others defending the management’s choices. Bear in mind that BINI has been garnering so much international attention lately. So, could we infer that the management is simply adapting to the group’s surge in popularity?
Keeping up with the Demand
Other BLOOMS jumped in to say that it’s simply the law of supply and demand at work. BINI has high market value right now. And when the demand is high, the prices go up!
They also said that ticketgoers aren’t just paying to see BINI. They’re paying for the production team, dancers, band, stylists, and all others behind the scenes. They need to get their money back, too!
Still Sold Out!
Despite the ticketing back-and-forth, BLOOMS still swept all 3 concert days!
Tickets for Days 1 and 2 were sold out after roughly 3 hours. And since the addition of Day 3, those tickets were sold out in under 2 hours! This just proves that fans will do anything to support their faves.
