Google Stations to Open in 50 Locations

Google is set to open Google Stations offering free and high-quality Wi-Fi hotspots in over 50 locations across the Philippines.

In the Google for Philippines Forum in Parañaque City, Mahesh Bhalerao, Global Director of Google’s Next Billion Users Partnerships, said the Google Stations will enable Filipinos from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to connect with high-quality internet.

“Google Stations will be developed in more than fifty locations by the end of this month,” Bhalerao said.

Google Station also struck a partnership with Smart to provide Wi-Fi hotspots in public areas including malls, markets, bus stations, and airports, among others.

Some of the Google Station locations where free Wi-Fi will be made available are:

  • Ali Mall
  • Gateway Mall
  • City Hall of Mandaluyong
  • City Hall of Baguio
  • Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2)
  • Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3)
  • Ateneo De Naga University
  • Bohol Island State University
  • Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba
  • Columban College Inc.
  • Bukidnon State University
  • Southern Luzon State University
  • Holy Cross of Davao College
  • Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
  • University of Cebu-Main Campus
  • Cebu South Bus Terminal
  • Clark International Airport
  • Davao International Airport
  • Batangas Port

Google Station has already been established in five other countries including India, Thailand, Mexico, and Nigeria.
