Filipino Crowned as the First Winner of UAE’s Largest Singing Reality Show
A Filipino showing up big time in an international singing competition truly never grows old.
This time, Jovan Aquino made his fellow Filipinos proud by winning the first season of United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) largest singing reality show called “The One.”
In an Instagram post he published on New Year’s Day, Aquino expressed his joy and gratitude in winning the competition:
“I’m still speechless and I still couldn’t believe it. What a way to close 2018’s door and what a great start for me this 2019!”
He added, “5 minutes before the countdown begins, I was announced the grand winner of UAE’s largest singing reality show, The ONE UAE Season 1!”
Stellar Performance
Aquino received a check worth AED 12,500 or around P179,000 as the grand prize.
The singing reality show is a month-long competition and is judged by Indian singer Shibani Kashyap, the lead vocalist of Nepal-based rock band The Edge. Joining Kashyap are Jeewan Gurung and popular voice coach Stacy Smith.
Jovan was able to wow the crowd and the judges with his rendition of “Feeling Good” originally sang by Michael Bublé.
