Embassy in Moscow exhibits PH exports and tourism

The Philippines took part in the three-day Indonesian Festival at the Krasnaya Presnya Park in Moscow last August 3 to 5, 2018. Other countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) also participated in the event.

The festival provided a venue for the Philippines to exhibit its top export products including dried mangoes, mango juice and jam, coconut sugar, coconut jam, coconut flour, banana chips, coffee, chocolates, canned tuna, and various accessories.

Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow for including other ASEAN countries at the festival.

“We were able to share with the people of Moscow information about our many and beautiful tourist destinations, our colorful fabrics and dress, and our world class handicraft and food products,” said Sorreta.

Partners for the future

Due to this opportunity, potential importers conveyed interest in collaborating with Philippine companies to introduce their products to the Russian market.

Philippine tourism was also promoted during the event. Destinations like Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, Mindoro, Palawan, and Negros were a few that shared the spotlight. A number of visitors showed excitement for Boracay’s reopening this October after a much-needed rehabilitation.

Other ASEAN diplomatic missions that were present in the festival at Moscow included the Embassies of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
