Central Luzon’s Crime Rate Drops 25%

Compared to the same period last year, Central Luzon’s crime rate in the first four months of 2018 went down by 25 percent according to the data gathered by the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).

Central Luzon regional police director Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus has credited the low crime rate to the sustained police operations in the region and the revival of Project Double Barrel.

Last week at the Regional Election Security Forum held in San Fernando, Pampanga, Corpus mentioned the significant drop of the number of murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, motorcycle and motor vehicle theft, and rape in Central Luzon from January to April 2018.

“This significant decrease in crimes can be attributed to the leveling up of our anti-criminality measures particularly on motorcycle riding suspects and our resumed anti-drug campaign as well as the continuous community support which contributes a lot in addressing lawlessness in the region,” Corpus said.
