Upgrading to the UMID Pay Card: Your 2025 Guide

The UMID Pay Card is a government-issued ID that also functions as an ATM/debit card. This enables users to receive loans, benefits, and disbursements directly through Unionbank for faster processing and added convenience.

Who Can Apply?

SSS members can upgrade their regular UMID card to the UMID Pay Card for free. However, this is only available for those who already have a UMID card or applied for one within the last ten (10) years. So if your UMID card is older than 10 years, you’ll need to wait for a new SSS advisory.

Otherwise, you can check if you’re eligible for the upgrade by receiving a text or email notification from SSS. You may also log in to My.SSS and select the “UMID Pay Card Upgrade” option under “Member Information.” If the system confirms you’re eligible, you can proceed.

Steps to Upgrade

1. Create or log in to your My.SSS account.
   • After signing in, click “Member Information” and select “UMID Pay Card Upgrade.”
   • If eligible, follow the instructions indicated. It’s also best to save the UMID transaction number listed.
2. Apply via UnionBank Online.
   • Download or open the UnionBank Online app.
   • Select “Open a New Account,” then choose “Government Card with Savings Account.”
   • Select the “SSS UMID Pay Card” option.
   • After reading and accepting the Terms and Conditions, enter the UMID transaction number you saved earlier.
   • Provide your SS number and personal information (nationality, mobile number, and mother’s maiden name). Make sure these match your records.
   • Confirm the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.
   • Review your details to make sure they’re correct.
   • Log your signature three (3) times using your device.
   • Choose a delivery address for your card.

Card delivery takes fifteen (15) banking days in Metro Manila and twenty (20) in provincial areas.
