These wonderful Christmas displays will surely bring renewed hope for a brighter and safer holiday celebration!

‘Tis the season! With tens of millions of Filipinos vaccinated, declining COVID-19 cases, and de-escalated alert levels, public spaces are now getting brighter. Several Christmas displays and events were inaugurated just last week. Here are some must-visit places to snap some photos and pose with your loved ones. Don’t forget to follow basic health safety protocols!

Looking for something different this Christmas? Come and visit Megaworld’s Eastwood City art installation by contemporary Filipino fine artist Leeroy New. Dubbed as “Festive Fungi, Merry Mycelium,” Eastwood’s Christmas display is a collection of hand-crafted oversized mushrooms and fungi that are seven meters in height! Also, the holiday installation is accompanied by Diego Mapa’s mix of original music and modern renditions of traditional Christmas songs.

Other Christmas displays within Megaworld’s township are the neon lights of Eastwood Central Plaza, Magical Christmas Carousel Garden at the fourth level of Eastwood Mall, and a 40-foot Christmas tree which is just steps away from Leeroy New’s works.

Stunning capiz lanterns in Ayala Avenue, Makati

In Makati City, Ayala Corp. pays homage to traditional Filipino Christmas decor, lighting up its central business district with parols made from capiz (native seashell), indigenous fabrics, and recycled materials designed by premier events stylist Zenas Pineda. Ayala’s two-kilometer stretch of bright lanterns is part of yearly Christmas festivities in the business district.

“More than just ornaments, these lights symbolize brighter days to come,” said Ayala Corp. president Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

Magical Christmas Garden in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong

In Mandaluyong, the neighborhood’s favorite mall bears a theme of a ‘Mega and Bright Christmas.’ SM Megamall welcomes the holiday season with a 45-foot tree adorned with thousands of Christmas lights, teal blue and gold ornaments, and oversized butterflies. Additionally, around the mall’s centerpiece are five augmented reality stations that bring a magical feel to mall-goers. Make sure the kids don’t miss this!

Giant Christmas “Three” in Power Plant Mall, Makati

Finally, this plush mall in the heart of Makati really pulled out all the stops. Instead of installing one Christmas tree, they built three! These three towering Christmas trees are located at the mall’s P2 level, North court, and Mall expansion area. The biggest among the three is 17 meters high, and took three days to install!

More than that, adorable animatronic animal displays such as snow leopards and snow tigers can be found inside the mall.
