Four PHL airports rank among Asia’s best

Nightmare no more. Despite infamously wallowing at the bottom of some lists in previous years, some Philippine airports are fighting back and carving out good reputations among travelers.

In a recent survey conducted by SleepingInAirports.com, travelers were asked a burning question relevant to not just them but anyone back home eager to hit the road – what’s the deal with Asian airports?

The annual list produced a ranking of airports in Asia based on an “overall airport experience” with the following criteria:

  • Comfort (Gate seating & availability of rest zones)
  • Services, facilities & things to do
  • Food options
  • Immigration/Security
  • Customer service
  • Cleanliness
  • Navigation and ease of transit
  • Sleepability

To no one’s surprise, Singapore’s Changi International tops the list. But as we read on, we were mildly shocked that a few of our own made it!

Iloilo International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Davao International Airport, and Clark International Airport all made the Top 25 cut. They ranked at #12, #13, #17, and #22 respectively.

Wow! Now, let’s keep it up, shall we?
