Bell-Kenz Pharma Collaborates with Military and Healthcare Institutions
Recent efforts to strengthen healthcare access for both military personnel and civilians received support through a recent medicine donation to public hospitals. Victoriano Luna General Hospital and Quezon City General Hospital recently received essential medicines through a donation from Bell-Kenz Pharma aimed at supporting healthcare services for soldiers, veterans, their families, and other patients.
What Happened?
Victoriano Luna General Hospital’s Department of Internal Medicine received cefepime-tazobactam, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections. The hospital provides specialized medical care to active-duty soldiers and their dependents as part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) healthcare system.
The donation aims to help strengthen the hospital’s ability to respond to complex infections while ensuring patients have access to appropriate treatment when needed.
Medicine Accessibility
According to CPT Nari Anne Patricia Vera Cruz, a fourth-year internal medicine resident at the hospital, access to appropriate antibiotics is crucial when managing severe infections.
“The first 24 to 48 hours are often decisive,” she said, explaining that early treatment can help stabilize patients while doctors wait for laboratory results.

Hospital officials noted that access to such medicines also supports antimicrobial stewardship programs, which aim to ensure antibiotics are used responsibly as resistance to certain drugs continues to increase worldwide.
