Forum to showcase business opportunities for Negros Occidental

A business forum slated for the month of September aims to be an avenue for prospective investors to get accustomed with the business climate in the province of Negros Occidental.

Entitled “Invest in Negros,” the forum is scheduled on September 26, 2018 in Makati City. It is spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, in collaboration with the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) and the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI).

Meanwhile, a high-ranking official of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, Inc. (ICCPI) expressed his support and interest to the upcoming business forum.

Lorens Ziller, ICCPI Executive Director, said that he is looking for possible investments, especially in the areas of infrastructure and transportation, in Negros Occidental. He met with Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., and was impressed with Bacolod City’s traffic management and infrastructure developments.

Aside from his position at the ICCPI, Ziller also serves as the Vice Chairman of the EU Philippines Business Network (EPBN) Infrastructure and Transport Committee.

The forum coincides with the Negros Trade Fair – the longest running provincial trade fair organized by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP). Both form part of the campaign to invite investors and propel economic growth in the province.

Among the invited panelists for the forum are the following:

  • Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Department of Tourism (DOT)
  • Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
  • Hiroshi Aoki, Hino Motors Philippines President
  • Rolando Dy, University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) – Center for Food and Agribusiness Executive Director

Senior executives, business associations, and business leaders are expected to attend the event, whose theme will revolve around the tourism industry and the food and service supply chain covering agriculture, fisheries, livestock, utilities, and infrastructure.
