Pinoy students are winning awards overseas, we should support them
Over the past years, the country hasn’t just been known for its record-breaking sports athletes making waves in international competitions.
Because beyond the physical exhaustion and team spirit, a number of Filipino prodigies have also been waving the Filipino flag across international academic competitions.
Just this July, level 3 participants for Grades 7, 8, and 9, from the Philippines, were the only gold medalists among all participants at the 13th Asian Finals of the World Math-Fusion Olympiad (WMO) that happened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Aside from Math, a team of Filipino students also brought home 19 medals from the 10th Global Finals of SPEAK International competition, focusing on the skills regarding listening, reading, and composition writing.
The bright youngsters
Tech-savvy and all, the youth haven’t forgotten to create meaningful contributions to society as well.
Taking note of the young inventors from Pampanga’s internationally-acclaimed research title at the 2019 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
The students are now in negotiations for the patent of intellectual property with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Our students have been gaining international recognition for dance, math, physics, and other subjects we all have taken at some point in our lives in elementary and high school. With the support of their parents and mentors of course.
This just goes to show that the country’s best and brightest are trained from the ground up, from little to then big achievements in the future.

A country and its children
Our national hero once mentioned, that the youth is the hope of the nation’s future, stressing the importance of education among the children.
These students are competing with more advanced countries in the means of technology across borders, yet bringing home the awards they deserve from all their hard work.
The government, aside giving aid to our national athletes, are also recognizing the gifts of our academic athletes, equipping them with the training, and any assistance that could help bring home those awards.
With the help of parents, mentors, the government and even us, the individuals who don’t have any close relations to these students, our motivation builds up a lot of their spirit towards their achievement.
There’s a famous saying from an African Proverb, describing the impact of a village on raising a child. For us, it takes a country showing its support to nurture them to be their best.
