Team Lakay Fighters Headline Stacked ONE Card in Manila

ONE Championship is back in the Philippines for the third time this year. This time, however, they’re bringing a more stacked card at the Mall of Asia Arena that Filipino fight fans with ONE Championship: Reign of Kings.

The July 27 event will feature a highly anticipated matchup between Team Lakay’s number one bantamweight contender Kevin ‘The Silencer’ Belingon and two-division ONE world champion Martin ‘The Situ-Asian’ Nguyen. The two fighters will duke it out for the interim ONE Bantamweight World Championship.

The winner gets a shot at the title by challenging ONE’s longest-reigning world champion, bantamweight king Bibiano ‘Flash’ Fernandes.

For Belingon and Nguyen, the stakes are high. Belingon winning means he finally gets to compete for the world championship. For Nguyen, he can make history by becoming a simultaneous three-division world champion.

Also on the card of ONE Championship: Reign of Kings is Team Lakay’s former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang.

Folayang lost his title back in 2017, and he’s now aiming to get back on top by taking on unbeaten Russian Aziz Pahrudinov, after his decisive win over Kharun Atlangeriev last May.

“The Landslide” will have his hands full with the 20-year old Pahrudinov who has a stellar 20-0 record with 13 wins via submission and six via KO or TKO.

Team Lakay’s former strawweight world title challenger Joshua Pacio will also compete in the event, taking on Thailand’s Pongsiri Misatit.

The match will decide if Pacio can get his third straight victory or the 22-year old Misati will stay unbeaten, maintaining his 9-0 professional record with 8 of them coming via decision.

Rene Catalan of Catalan Fighting System will also put his winning streak on the line against Indonesian fighter Steffer Rahardian.

Other matches in ONE Championship: Reign of Kings will be between former ONE Champion Shinya Aoki and Shannon Wiratchai in a lightweight bout, and a battle between legends featuring Renzo Gracie and Yuki Kondo in a welterweight bout.
