Grab and MOVE IT Launch Fuel Discounts to Cushion Price Surge
In response to rising fuel prices, Grab fuel discounts and driver support programs have been expanded nationwide to help ride-hailing and delivery partners maintain their earnings and stay on the road. Grab Philippines and its partner MOVE IT unveiled a multi-layered relief initiative combining discounted fuel access, earnings protection, and expanded incentives designed to cushion the impact of rapidly increasing pump prices. These measures aim not only to support driver- and rider-partners but also to ensure continued availability and reliability of transport services for Filipino commuters.
Why Grab Fuel Discounts Matter Now
Global fuel prices have surged due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions, making gasoline and diesel more expensive for everyday motorists and transport workers alike. Drivers shoulder these costs daily as part of their operating expenses. When fuel costs rise sharply, many driver-partners may reduce their hours or go offline, which could reduce ride and delivery availability for passengers.
To address this, Grab and MOVE IT launched support programs that target fuel price relief directly and indirectly through incentives.
Fuel Discounts and Rebates for Drivers
One key feature of the support package is direct fuel cost relief for drivers and rider-partners. Through partnerships with major providers like Seaoil, Caltex, and Blu Energy, drivers can receive fuel savings of up to ₱4 per liter at participating stations nationwide. Additionally, a targeted rebate of ₱3 per liter is available for nearly 20,000 eligible partners who refuel using the Grab Finance Shell Fuel Card between March 16 and the end of March, with the cashback credited directly to their accounts.
Earnings Protection and Expanded Incentives
To ensure that driver incomes remain stable despite rising costs, Grab has rolled out new incentives across its platform. GrabCar driver-partners can benefit from refreshed commission rebates and per-trip cashback during peak periods. GrabFood delivery riders using motorcycles receive a ₱3 spot bonus per completed delivery nationwide, irrespective of hours online or total trips.
MOVE IT’s rider-partners get support through the new “Power Pasada” program — a fuel resilience initiative that includes monthly fuel allowance top-ups and peak-period incentives tailored specifically for two-wheel transport partners.

The Bigger Picture: Keeping Mobility Accessible
The expanded Grab fuel discounts and incentive programs serve a dual purpose: they help protect driver livelihoods and ensure that commuters continue to have access to affordable transport options. As fuel costs fluctuate, maintaining a robust network of ride-hailing and delivery services becomes crucial, especially for those who depend on them for daily travel, work, and essential errands.
Grab continues to monitor developments and adjust its support initiatives to respond to evolving conditions in the transport sector.
Fuel price increases have hit hard across the Philippines, particularly for driver-partners who rely on gasoline and diesel to earn a living. By rolling out expanded Grab fuel discounts, rebates, earnings protection, and incentive programs, Grab and MOVE IT are helping thousands of drivers and riders stay operational and financially stable.
Beyond short-term relief, these measures also illustrate a collaborative effort among platform companies, transport stakeholders, and government agencies to create resilience in the face of economic challenges. As fuel prices remain unpredictable, such support programs will play a key role in keeping Filipino transport workers on the road and commuters moving.
