Bell-Kenz, DOTr to Join Forces for Sagip CPR

Bell-Kenz Pharma and the Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) officially formalized their partnership yesterday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Coast Guard Base Farola in Manila. This agreement aims to expand life-saving training for transport personnel across the country. The collaboration institutionalizes the Sagip CPR program within the nation’s major transportation sectors, underscoring both organizations’ shared goal of enhancing emergency preparedness in crowded public spaces.

A Joint Commitment to Saving Lives

The MOU was signed by CG Commodore Oliver Sy Tanseco, Commander of DOTr-SAICT, and Dr. Luis Raymond T. Go of Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc. Under the partnership, Hands-Only CPR training will be provided to frontliners stationed at bus terminals, rail stations, airports, seaports, and integrated transport hubs nationwide.

Dr. Go highlighted the significance of the initiative:

“Through Commodore Tanseco’s support, we can expand our advocacy and equip more individuals with the skills to save lives during critical moments. We’re committed to continuing this program and exploring ways to improve emergency response across the Philippines.”

Commodore Tanseco also expressed gratitude to Bell-Kenz:

“Our personnel stand to gain greatly from Bell-Kenz Pharma’s support. Today, we are truly fortunate for their dedication to the Philippine Coast Guard and public safety.”

As part of the agreement, DOTr-SAICT will coordinate the scheduling and execution of training programs, ensuring that staff in high-traffic commuter areas are ready to respond effectively during medical emergencies. The agency will also work with government and private partners to implement the program efficiently nationwide.

Bringing Sagip CPR to Every Transport Hub

The MOU represents a key milestone in Bell-Kenz’s vision of a “CPR-ready Philippines.” The Sagip CPR initiative has already conducted hands-on sessions with local government units, schools, and community organizations, creating a growing network of trained responders prepared to act swiftly in cardiac emergencies.

With the partnership now formalized, transport frontliners, who are often the first on the scene during incidents in terminals, busways, airports, and ports, will receive structured and continuous training.

The rollout will begin with major transport corridors before gradually expanding to regional centers, strengthening the country’s nationwide emergency readiness network.
